Spring has sprung and it is time to get out into our gardens. There is so much for kids to touch and explore in gardens. The hardest part for my garden is making sure the kids don’t pull off the fruit/vegetable until it is ready. This week we are going to explore everything in the garden including getting some already ripe fruits and vegetables to explore.Read More →

Once upon a time… is a familiar beginning to a fairy tale and we will immerse ourselves in these fun stories for this theme. Books are so much fun to read and having regular story time is important for young minds. This is the best theme to start introducing very basic concepts of print and order of a story. I have been waiting for this theme all spring! It is time to learn all about butterflies and their metamorphosis. The best way for kids to learn is to make learning as hands-on as possible. To do this, I highly suggest ordering live caterpillars from Insect Lore and watching them change into butterflies. I bought a cup of caterpillars last year and my boys loved watching them day by day and then finally releasing them. I knew we would be doing this activity again. We are springing into Easter with this fun Easter theme! Lots of egg, bunny, and peep activities to get the kids learning and having fun! I normally repeat floor activities throughout the week, but since so many activities I found involve little prep and plastic eggs, I decided it would not be too much work to use the same plastic eggs and just introduce a new activity each day. If this is too much for you, feel free to pick your favorites and just repeat them on another day.Read More →
